We are standing on the threshold of a major change in the textile industry - the extension of Extended Producer Responsibility to the clothing industry. A truckload of clothes ends up in landfill every second, and textiles are the fourth most environmentally damaging economic sector in the European Union. The new EU regulations shift the responsibility for financing the management of waste textiles from local governments and citizens to the shoulders of the clothing industry. This is the same principle that has been in place for years in the packaging industry. So will the new regulations affect garment manufacturers, who will have to bear the cost of waste management, and will it affect the design of more durable products? Will the vision of more expensive clothing make us start buying less, or will we simply look for cheap alternatives? We will try to answer these questions.

Packaging is no longer just about protecting and presenting a product, it is also a logistical and environmental challenge. The PPWR is, on the one hand, an attempt to harmonise the EU internal market and, on the other hand, an attempt to force the real application of the waste hierarchy, which is still unfortunately neglected in practice when it comes to packaging. In the debate, we want to focus on how to translate the legal requirements into economic practice in a circular economy model. The practical implementation of the Reduce - Reuse - Recycle principle, although right, poses challenges to three key groups - producers, processors and consumers - that require a complete redefinition of current business models and habits.

The debate will focus on the dynamically changing regulatory environment of e-commerce and its impact on business, consumers and legal practice. In the discussion, we will combine three perspectives - law, business and marketplace users - to take a comprehensive look at the challenges and opportunities presented by the new regulations. We will touch on the impact of the regulation on operational costs, logistics, returns and marketplaces and compare the Polish and EU approaches. We will also consider whether the new regulations will hinder the development of e-commerce or rather become an impulse for innovation. The debate will provide an opportunity to share experiences, identify key risks and seek solutions that will allow companies to successfully navigate the new regulatory reality.
